Music should follow you through the house

Picture Saturday morning: music playing softly in the kitchen while you make coffee, the same playlist continuing onto the patio when you step outside, the kids' rooms quiet because everyone has their own zone. No Bluetooth speaker being carried room to room. No volume wars. Just music, everywhere, controlled from your phone.

That is whole-home audio. In-ceiling or in-wall speakers in the rooms you choose, patio speakers outside, all connected to a system you control by room from one app. It is one of those upgrades that changes daily life more than any single theater component.

How it works

Speakers go in the ceiling (or walls) of each zone — kitchen, living room, master bedroom, patio, pool area, wherever you want music. They are painted to match and virtually invisible. A central system powers them, and the app on your phone controls each zone independently: volume, source, on and off.

Sources are whatever you already use: Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, SiriusXM, your own library. The system streams directly — your phone is the remote, not the source, so a phone call does not interrupt the music and you can leave the house without the music stopping.

Zones: together or separate

Each area is its own zone. Party mode plays the same music everywhere — inside and out — for gatherings. Normal life runs zones independently: jazz in the kitchen, quiet in the bedrooms, the game on the patio. Zones can be grouped and ungrouped in seconds from the app.

We help you plan the zones during the visit: which rooms, how many speakers per room (big rooms need pairs for even coverage), and where the patio and pool speakers go. Outdoor zones use weatherproof speakers designed for Florida — they handle sun, rain, and humidity.

Patio and pool audio

Outdoor sound is where whole-home audio shines in Florida — we live outside half the year. We install weatherproof landscape speakers tucked into planting beds, mounted under eaves, or disguised as rocks. They are aimed at the seating and pool areas, not the neighbors, and they are tuned for open-air listening.

Pool areas get special attention: speakers placed so the sound is even across the deck without blasting the water, and a subwoofer option for real bass outdoors (buried models are invisible). Everything is outdoor-rated for our climate.

New construction and existing homes

New construction is the easy case — we pre-wire during framing, cheap and invisible. But most of our whole-home audio goes into existing homes. We run wires through attics and walls, cut in ceiling speakers cleanly, and patch and paint so you cannot tell we were there. Two-story homes and concrete block walls take more planning, which is why the in-home visit matters.

For rooms where wire runs are truly impractical, we use quality wireless options as a complement — not a replacement for the wired core. Wired speakers sound better and never drop out; wireless fills the gaps.

Simple enough for everyone

The app is the whole interface, and we set it up so anyone can use it: room list, volume sliders, source picker. We create presets for common scenarios — "Morning" (kitchen + patio, low), "Party" (everywhere, up), "Bedtime" (master only, low). We train the family before we leave, and we keep it simple enough that nobody needs a manual.

Voice control throughout the house

"Play jazz in the kitchen." "Turn off the patio." "Party mode." Voice control layered over whole-home audio is genuinely useful — your hands are cooking, you are in the pool, the phone is in the other room. We integrate with the major voice platforms so each zone responds to simple commands.

We set up voice control carefully: zone names that are easy to say and hard to confuse ("patio" and "pool" are fine; "lanai" and "loggia" will confuse everyone). And we keep the app as the primary control — voice is the convenience layer, not the only way. When guests are over and do not know the commands, the app is right there.

Audio for the home office

Remote work made the home office a real room, and it deserves real sound. A pair of in-ceiling speakers in the office does three jobs: background music while you work, clear audio for video calls (far better than laptop speakers), and a zone that stays quiet when the rest of the house is playing music.

We treat the office as its own zone with its own volume — your focus playlist at a low level while the kids' zone plays something else entirely. Add a video-call-friendly acoustic panel or two and the office becomes the best-sounding room for calls in the house. Small upgrade, daily payoff.

Doorbells, announcements, and practical touches

Whole-home audio does practical jobs too. A smart doorbell can chime through the ceiling speakers instead of a single harsh buzzer — you hear the door from the backyard. Announcements ("dinner's ready") broadcast to selected zones. And the system doubles as a gentle alarm: wake up to music in the bedroom instead of a phone buzzer.

These touches cost nothing extra once the system is in — they are software features of the platform. We set up the ones you want during installation and show you how they work. It is the kind of thing you did not know you needed until you have it.

Starting small and growing

You do not have to wire the whole house on day one. Many clients start with three or four zones — kitchen, living room, master bedroom, patio — and add rooms later. We design the system for growth: the central equipment supports more zones than you start with, and we run extra wire to nearby rooms during the first install while the walls are open.

Adding a zone later is straightforward when the backbone is in place: cut in the speakers, connect to the system, name the zone in the app. No re-engineering, no starting over. Tell us your long-term vision during the visit and we will build phase one so phase two is easy.

Our process

We visit, walk the house with you, and plan the zones — which rooms, how many speakers, where the equipment lives. You get a written estimate with the full plan. We install — usually two to four days — running wire, cutting in speakers, setting up the system. We configure the app, create your presets, and train everyone. Then Saturday morning sounds different.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you add speakers to a house that is already built?

Yes — most of our installs are in existing homes. We run wires through attics and inside walls, cut speakers into ceilings cleanly, and patch and paint. Single-story homes are straightforward; two-story homes take more planning, which we handle during the visit.

Will I see the speakers?

Barely. In-ceiling speakers sit flush and get painted to match — most visitors never notice them. Outdoor speakers tuck into landscaping or mount under eaves. The system is heard, not seen.

Can different rooms play different music?

Yes — that is the whole point of zones. Each zone is independent: different music, different volume, on or off. Or group zones together for the same music everywhere during a party. It takes seconds in the app.

What music services work with it?

The major ones — Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, SiriusXM, and others — stream directly through the system. Your phone is the remote, so calls and notifications never interrupt the music.

Can the patio speakers handle Florida weather?

Yes. We install outdoor-rated speakers built for sun, rain, and humidity — landscape models, eave-mounted, and rock-disguised options. They are designed to live outside year-round in our climate.

Is it hard to use?

No — that is a design requirement. One app, room list, volume sliders, presets for common scenarios. We set it up and train the family. If it needed a manual, we did it wrong.
